Pre-K Funding

Earlier this year, Governor Bredesen mentioned that funding for Pre-K will probably need to be scaled back. In April, the governor said he must "trim his sails" in funding the program. In the same conversation, he said the program is needed for children as part of their educational program. The current budget issues faced by state and local governments in Tennessee have created situations where money is not available to finance every program approved by the legislators. Hopefully, sufficient amounts of money can be found by the government for funding the educational programs needed by our children. Our children need every advantage they can get involving education, since competition with students from other parts of the world seems to get more intense each year.
